✧ Hi, I’m Jo.

A qualified counsellor + meditation therapist with over 20 years of experience in social work and counselling and also a cancer survivor and thriver. .

Having worked with over thousands of individuals from teens to adults, business owners to mothers spanning from all different walks of life, and having also embarked on my own journey in overcoming cancer, I truly believe in the power of our minds when it comes to overcoming challenges be it big, or small.

Through breath, mindfulness, and presence, I help my clients and students intentionally slow down, find their own rhythm and create a life that they don’t have to escape from.

I believe when we learn to love ourselves, the good, the bad, the ugly, we are able to harness the unwavering light we have within all of us, and as a result, this becomes a natural reflection to how we approach our relationship with others, in our work and in our world. It becomes a ripple that starts with first accepting, celebrating and loving ourselves.

✧ And now, the profesh credentials so you know Jo is in fact, the real deal;

  • Masters in Counselling

  • Post Graduate Advanced Diploma of Meditation Therapy

  • Internationally Certified + Award Winning Coach

  • Professional registration with IMTTA - International Meditation Teachers and Therapist Association.

  • 20 Years in the Social Work field specialising in Mental Health, Youth Work + Community Development including Juvenile Justice, a 4 year tenure at CREATE establishing a presence for regional NSW and running large scale events and advocating systemically for young people in ‘out of home care’ to change and improve policies and legislation on their behalf.

Living a life on your terms ✽

Living a life on your terms ✽

I haven’t just been helping people create and live a life on their own terms for over 20 years, I have been doing it myself.

For as long as I can remember I felt ‘different’ and like I didn't quite fit the status quo.

The difference is, nowadays I work with my grain and don’t see or believe what makes me different to be a bad thing.

I now know that it is a gift and it is what makes me ‘me’ and helps me on my mission to help others, just like you.

☞ Because you see, I can’t NOT do what I do. It is part of the very fabric of my DNA.

My work to help others is so intrinsic and has been with me always. I was the six year old little girl who would go and sit and talk with the elderly lady at the supermarket because I could just tell she was lonely, and needed to connect and talk, so i would sit and listen and offer what i could in my six year old little way to help her see she was not alone, that people cared and that she always has herself. I have always been able to read people in this way and as a result I never wondered what I would do when I ‘grew up’ - for me it was always going to be exactly what I am doing and will continue to do always.

BUCKING THE SYSTEM, KEEPING THE HEART

I have played so many roles in my life, and in my career, and yet when I look back and explore them all with a birds-eye, I can see myself in hindsight, bucking the system with fists of love everywhere I went. When i worked for agencies in the earlier part of my social work and counselling career I was constantly faced with uphill challenges and resistance from the people who were set in their ways, I had to fight for the initiatives I was creating every step of the way. I learned the only way to fight it was with love - and I developed a capacity to love that sometimes gets me caught out - but mostly blows people's minds.

CANCER, COVID AND PLENTY OF CHANGE.

I was diagnosed with Cancer right when the world started to shut down with covid, and I knew that I needed to harness that love in an even greater way, with a clear focus on my thoughts and how to best manage my mindset and regulate my emotional and mental state, learning to interrupt intense spirals of fear and be my own source of comfort, calm and love like I never had before.

And through inner work, thought work and a devoted meditation practice I was able to do just that and walked into each surgery increasingly calmer, being my own best ally. From this, i went on and completed my masters degree in counselling and a post graduate advanced diploma in meditation therapy and i now have an even deeper drive to help you to know, unwaveringly so, that you are stronger than you may realise, and that you too can face and move through life’s challenges evolving and growing with grace and grit, with love.

And through my own personal experience and many years as a counsellor and coach I have validated and confirmed many times over, a theory of mine that we can all access a state of calm within ourselves, no matter the circumstances or situation we may find ourselves in.

And when we see that it has less to do nothing to do with anything outside of ourselves and we learn to switch from auto-pilot to intentionally + mindfully living, we begin to feel less chaotic and wobbly nearing breaking point and instead increasingly feel better and better, grounded and stable, becoming more content and wholeheartedly accepting and loving of who we are with clarity of where we’re going,

knowing what truly matters.

You start to fully live. Fully feel life.

You BE you. The real you

You show up for life unapologetically, with love, purpose, and impact.

And lemme tell you, the secret to all of this is that you being you, your whole self, is you living a meaningful and purposeful life that will leave a legacy long after you’ve gone.

And that’s what you really want isn’t it?

To love every part of yourself and just be you without the armour.

To live your life to its fullest (note: this is different for everyone and helping my clients know this with certainty for themselves is one of my superpowers)

And to know your direction and what really matters to you and then do what’s needed to live that life and be the person you know you truly are!

Nothing less.

Nothing more.

Just you.

✨A few things about me.

  • ✈️ I am a pilot in training and absolutely love flying. This is something I do just for me, and the feeling I get when I am up in the clouds, with a birds eye view of the world is so indescribable, I just know that that feeling is magic and keeps me coming back for more. Spoken like every pilot ever.

  • I once accidentally kissed a man's Adam's apple instead of his cheek.💋 ⇢Yes, it was indeed, very, very awkward!

  • 🏡 I live in the New England high country in NSW, Australia and could not love it anymore. I am a country girl through and through and while I enjoy cities for shopping, theatre and fancy pants restaurants + bars, the simple country life with my veggie gardens, bush walks and people who drive and live that bit slower is totally my jam.

  • Coffee is my love language. Coffee and dogs. Forever and ever. ☕️ 🐶 🧡

  • I am a fur-mumma to 2 cavoodles that totally don’t understand that they are actually dogs and not humans. I have tried to tell them and each time they just kind of give me this look that is like they are laughing at me, thinking how funny I am to be joking with them. Not kidding. 👀

  • Obvs i am big on meditation. But not in your typical-guru-follow-me-kind-of-way. I firmly believe that there are as many ways to meditate as there are people and part of my mission is to help as many people as I can find their own meditation rhythm and experience the many, many proven benefits of a regular practice. I promise, it will change your life for the better just like it has mine.✌️

Okies, that’s enough about me.
